ACHE (LIVÈCHE)
Aches: synonyms include perpetual celery, perennial celery, bastard celery, mountain ache or Maggi grass.
The seeds and roots of ache are used to flavor alcoholic beverages. Stems and petioles can be candied. The use of lovage has largely been replaced by that of celery. It is still grown mainly in Switzerland and Germany.
